Its k

do you want to "forget the pope" in the ass or somethin
Nope

the catholic church's power and wealth come almost exclusively from the 3rd world. where they breed like rabbits, and usually grow to be uneducated.

the rising trend of people striving for education, self improvement, using contraceptives, and generally caring more about economic and social strife the nation/world they live in;
...is a threat to the church's future.

Not exactly true Bisjac, a lot of Catholics are from 1st world countries. Just because most of countries like Mexico or continents like South America are mainly Catholic doesnt necessarily mean that all of the Catholic Church's wealth comes from there.

sorry. i forgot india and africa don't exist. my bad
india and africa are actually able to over-produce food, it's just that various human factors (the lack of sufficient transportation, warlords controlling the food supply to increase their own power, government corruption) prevent food from being distributed equally or at cheap enough prices for people to eat consistently.

St. Francis Xavier seems like a very level-headed guy. You all shouldn't swarm him just because he's a religious guy on the internet.

because overpopulation is never going to be a problem
When discussion overpopulation, you cannot look at on a global scale. You have to shrink it down and focus on a specific area like a country or a single area on a continent.

Look at India which is overpopulated. The US is not, we can support ourselves, india cannot.

children are a blessing. but if you want to grow up grouchy and alone then ok
>implying not having kids makes you grouchy and alone

This is my favorite Pope.

It's an understandable view.
He's coming from a religion that believes ones seed should only be used for having children, and that contraception isn't acceptable.
actually i'm catholic and you can have protected love, but if you do it before marriage it's premarital love and that's a mortal sin apparently
i don't recall there being anything saying that you must have children, though
honestly, i don't think god cares as long as we take care of the earth and each other

From the stories my parents tell me, children are double edged blades. You hate what they do sometimes, but if you raise them right and they follow the right paths, they turn into something that you can put pride into.

My mother tells me a lot about her pregnancy and raising me, she says it was a grueling 9 months, as well as a stressful transition through childhood to adolescence, but worth it just to see her healthy baby boy grow up all right.

Carol, you need to remember that while children may be stressful and a burden at times, but they grow into something magnificent when nutured and moulded correctly. Your child could become the next genius to come up with some sort of cure to an incurable disease nowadays. They could become an innovative mogul that changes the way we look at certain things. Or they could be normal, but they still do good every day of their lives, no matter the size of the generosity. Just food for thought.
