from Indianapolis International to LAX to Tokyo, it costs about 1,290 USD, Im not sure of the fares for bullet trains, but id have to them to get to Osaka, Kyoto, and Sapporo (nvm just looked it up, 280 USD for a train-pass type thing for 7 weeks which is how long ill be there)

this ammounts up to 1600 dollars or so travelling, and then 400 dollars spending money on food and such

When do you think this trip takes place? I'll be at the Tokyo Institute of Technology soon for a walkthrough and a discussion with one of the professors. If you'd like I could show you around, get you some awesome Gachapon loot as I have to admit I am absolutely addicted to those machines.

It would be great to go to Japan with your bros and maybe going there all together would be a cool once off but you will always be able to travel places.
