wait you're fifteen and your brothers invited you to go but aren't gonna pay your way? wtf

i have a friend who goes to school 8am-3pm and he works 36-40 hours a week

wait you're fifteen and your brothers invited you to go but aren't gonna pay your way? wtf

they didnt invite me to go with them, they both just got out of college and are paying off their student loans so adding on the price of another person on them wont do them any good. however if i have enough money to pay for myself, well you get it

why don't you ask your parents?

because 2000 dollars is a lot to ask for

did u even read my reply or do i write advice for jack stuff

I wouldn't ask them straight up for 2 grand. I'd ask them if they can work something out with your brothers where everybody pays a little money towards the funds

I think you should let them determine what is too much. it's not like their perception of you is going to change because you ask for some money, especially since it's to visit family with your siblings
offer to work for it

yes i did and your advice is noted but im quite persistent towards this goal of visiting japan

I was serious about the PA thing, I'll be a bit more stern and tell you that you won't be able to make it by just yourself. Trust me I was as persistent as a 16 year old could be. This was for my online boyfriend at the time, which was a big deal to me. So I worked every day and sold a lot of my stuff. You get tired of it, and I'm pretty sure you're under the same impulsive mind-set as I was.

good thing he has two grown brothers and parents who would probably be willing to help, then

Yeah! That's why I specifically mentioned the "alone" part. :p
If you can get financial support from this from your parents or brothers, go for it. Chop down that price, get the funding from your parents, go to Japan!
I'll remind you again though, 2000 USD is a lot of money, take some more time to think about this and to make sure it is not an impulsive decision. It might sting you in the future if you feel like it wasn't worth it.

where are you getting the $2000 figure from? I don't know where you live, but from Atlanta to Tokyo a round-trip ticket is just about half that. you might want some extra money to spend, but with the other people there I don't think you'd have to worry about a hotel room or travel costs once you're in japan

There are several part time jobs that you could take up. Ask your parents if they have any connections and can help you out.

from Indianapolis International to LAX to Tokyo, it costs about 1,290 USD, Im not sure of the fares for bullet trains, but id have to them to get to Osaka, Kyoto, and Sapporo (nvm just looked it up, 280 USD for a train-pass type thing for 7 days which is how long ill be there)

this ammounts up to 1600 dollars or so travelling, and then 400 dollars spending money on food and such
