Is it just me or are a lot of in-game players no longer using their chat?

Seriously. Almost all the players that have joined my server in the past couple months don't even use their chat and don't talk. It's really annoying.

Anyone else noticed this?

I haven't played in about a month, but can't say I noticed it before.

I do find that brand new Blockheads often seem hesitant to talk though. I don't know if they don't know how to (I often tell them how), or they have nothing to say, or don't read/write English.


Typically I find silent people don't stay for long. They either fly around the build, or check my add-ons briefly before disappearing.

Yeah when I had tower defense with ~18 players there was barely anyone trying to chat

there's plenty to talk about on my server. i talk to all my server guests when they join. which is part of why i get annoyed when they don't use their chat/straight up ignore me. it's extremely rude.

usually i'm too busy playing to actually type
but if i do have time to type, i just type some random garbage to reply to the guy who was talking to me
especially in stuff like DMs while you're in the middle of two sides shooting at each other

I don't talk at all sometimes because I get so focused on the game that I completely disregard the chat
