i dont know, the alt floors arent that big of challenge, i don't know why they made them optional behind a price to enter them when they don't really offer an additional reward (iirc the way gungeon had its secret floors function)
it may just be because I'm not used to them but the enemies in the newer areas are definitely harder to deal with to me than the normal rebirth enemies.
and I guess you DO get one extra item room out of doing all of the alt floors, aswell as whatever else special they have (I remember seeing a mauseloum room with like, 3 item pedestals in it that could only be reached by a teleporter)
but having some NG+ style thing as an end reward would give more incentive towards doing said floors.
but that's so much fun, which is like i said a huge problem to any mod hopping to add alt paths without editing the pre-existing ones, they'll just be another darkroom gathering dust after they've been played once for any unlockables they might offer
I mean, you'd still have a chance at getting overpowered since you'd still be getting items like a normal run, its just you wont get all of them in a matter of 2-3 rooms, and you could just keep looping around until either you breakfast yourself or (if there is some looping enemy scaling system) you get overwhelmed.
