I got it in late 2012, it's a Dell XPS 8500

No, but due to you saying it's a tower, is pretty good implication that it will fit.

If you want to play it safe, then go with this https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835106250
use this

you checked it? the cooler master wouldn't fit?
I have no idea, but to play it safe, go with that

Also that should be easier to install

I mean they're both only like 20 bucks so I could spare that

does Newegg take back items if they aren't used?

idk???

so I downloaded speccy and the CPU's running at like 30-40 degrees meanwhile the graphics card is like 66 degrees

I'm gonna play ROBLOX and see what changes but IDK

I'm playing a graphics-intensive game and the temperature on the graphics card is shooting up to around 80-90 degrees. No decrease in temperature yet. All CPU cores are at around 30-40 degrees. The computer is making a soft drone, not the revving or chugging it was earlier. Scratch that, it's chugging now.

Is it the GPU cooling?

now the computers kinda slowly and inconsistently chugging

also my brother's laptop is "breathing heavily"

can someone answer

I'd like to get the part I need this week

What kind of GPU do you have?

Does it have multiple fans on it?

If they have a sticker on the middle part (circled with red) that's somewhat bulged it could mean the bearing on the fan is busted and requires at least a replacement fan.

More likely the middle is going to be covered somehow (unless it's an older GPU) and diagnosing exact cause is going to be harder, but the description makes it sound like a fan bearing failure due to wear and tear, causing overheating of the GPU under heavy workload.

Get canned air and blow it into your case, you probably have a dust issue, no?

sounds pretty unfunny to me
