If parents care:
Watch what child does on the computer and filter sites, etc.
Knowing this, they would realize that their son has the potential of looking at unwanted things using a portable DS browser, thus they either don't buy it for him or would limit his access to it.

If parents don't care:
The kid should just look at research on the computer.

How about this realistic situation.

Parents don't criticize every little thing, down to a simple portable web browser. They are normal parents who do care but don't overcare like in your situation.

I don't see how you don't realize most parents are like this -_-

If a parent cares enough to actually put a filter and stuff onto your computer, then trust me you aint getting that browser.
And uh, maybe because my parents aren't stupid? (Excluding my mom, but don't tell her I said that.)
