Indeed, but not with normal everyday bullets they do nothing to tanks. Incediary bullets me thinks, but they are also used to blow up armor so hurrrrrr

Actually, even with tracer rounds (the bullets are heated on the tip, I think) the gas tank would just be punctured. Tanks don't blow up when you shoot them. Gas tanks, I mean.
