Why should just the gas tank explode? It's easier to make a gas tank vehicle and make the vehicle explode

Let me rephrase my last sentence in this thread. It would be to easy to kill a vehicle and would defeat the purpose of charging with a vehicle. Besides a gas tank would not blow up but leak a trail of gas.

Actually, even with tracer rounds (the bullets are heated on the tip, I think) the gas tank would just be punctured. Tanks don't blow up when you shoot them. Gas tanks, I mean.
