Taikodom, a Space MMORPG. Very fun. I tried it out few days ago and it is a very fun game. Everyone should try it out.
There's a in-game tutorial to teach basics and all. Very, very fun game.

I freakin' love my Freelancer :D

Also, I tried Taikodom... And it lags like there's no tomorrow :<

Which is a pity, because it has a large amount of potential as a free, more casual EVE Online

I dunno, I have yet to see a good multiplayer space sim in the style of Freelancer or the amazing DOS classic Tie Fighter. Spacecowboys/Flysis/Something came close but that ended up all weird, it was still fun though.

Also EvE doesn't count since it's an excel spreadsheet game.

Anyway, I tried Taikodom again today, the lag was much easier... But on a mission the guy I was meant to protect destroyed me for no reason, it has a lot of work to do before it's a truly good game

Sure, if you want it to be. Personally I just got done fighting off some guy in an assault frigate in my cruiser. I came close to blowin' him up, but since my ship was poorly fit at  the time (modules i wanted weren't available) and I wasn't really ready for him he blew me. fuken tech 2 frigates D:

Lets simplify it, every Space MMORPG where you can trade, fight and explore systems is a Freelancer ripoff. Including EVE.
