@radial: My brother did that stupidly. He rubbed his fingers on the pins of a core i7 and the mobo pins. Worked for a bit but then died.

Don't just order parts and expect it to be like a lego set, with instructions and click-in parts.

Actually most parts do just click in. And most also come with instructions.

My motherboards manual tells you how to put in ram.
Even a baby can do that.
