If a man loses his legs, his normal response is to find a way to work around it. In general, people try to work their way around any disabilities they have. However, gay people show the opposite reaction. They seem to show distinct pride in their "abnormality".
My conclusion is that, for whatever reason (attention, being hurt by the opposite love), people choose to be gay.
