Author Topic: I FOUND THE SECRET OF PREVENTING THE RRoD!  (Read 1093 times)

*This is based on my opinions and experience, don't flame me, it worked for me.
Before you start, is your console modded?  That is the problem.
1.Power Supply!
1.Unplug and replug, did it help?  If not continue.
2.Try another socket/room.  If that fixed it, stop here!
3.Disconnect and reconnect ALL of the wires.  If it is fixed stop now, and go on with life.
2.Overheating.
1.Did you do ANY of the following;
1a.Mod the console.
1b.Play for more than 8 hours (at a time.)
1c.Hit the console (may caused something to break and short circuit the poor bugger.)
1d.Leave running for more than 8 hours.
So, did you?
If so, you can; Void your warranty and "do-it-yourself" style fixing.  OR,  Send it to microsoft.
3.Piracy
Did you pirate a game?  If so, then the XBox disables itself.  (Happened before, trust me.)
4.If all else fails...
Ragequit and beat the stuff out of the thing! Send it to microsoft for repairs!
Sorry for posting a little to much today.
Edit:Good call, changed name.

This seems to be more of a "I FOUND OUT HOW TO PREVENT GETTING THE RRoD" thread.

1.Unplug and replug, did it help?  If not continue. RRoDs are internal problems. I doubt this would work

The RRoD you "fix" by doing that stuff is the red ring of "osht I'm getting very little power"

Or: not a RRoD

rrod isnt actually a ring :o

You didn't uncover any secret.

*bricked, not disabled.

RRoDs occur from any hardware problems, which includes the power supply.

rrod isnt actually a ring :o
If you get an AV cable error it's a ring, otherwise it only fills certain corners:

Edit:
Whoops, didn't mean to double post :(

Thank you for the obvious way to "fix/prevent" your un*-RRoD from happening.

How about, instead of stuffing your xbox in a cabinet with no openings but the doors and a small hole in the back giving it no ventilation. Put it in the open. Durr.

Also, when you get killed don't rage, scream, and throw your xbox/banglol it.

Guess what, unless it is an error of something else. That won't do anything what you said.
"omg! my exbawks got a hurdwere faalure! i think dat plugging it in and oot weel wurk! ai am jeenuz!"

Raeg. Kinda

At first I thought this was going to be a PS3 joke thread... You know, Prevent RRoD by buying a PS3! Insert cookiemonster pic and watch the flame war begin.

Mine idea of how to make it work is... dont be stupid, i have had my box for 4 years, and never god RRoD EVER
