It doesn't take a considerably long time to just go and submit something to RTB.
Even shorter time to update an add-on.

I don't see why you take 'control' to be more valuable than others' convenience.

I don't have any problems with RTB. I see no reason to redo it, because the only way to make a better version is to do everything it does as well as it does and then more. And the "more" part can pretty much just be solved by an addon to RTB, not redoing the whole thing so you can add a few more features.

Then it's an stand-alone add-on which has nothing to do with RTB but checking if some functions from it exists. To really add functions to RTB you got to overwrite or append functionality, which apparently Ephi is not going to allow.
