Author Topic: Anyone know how to delete this damn folder?  (Read 3342 times)

I just got rid of my second OS on my computer (it was Win7 beta), and there's a leftover folder that refuse to delete.

I can't delete "Users\Dave\AppData\Roaming\SecuROM\UserData" In that folder there's 2 files with weird names, "ЃϵϳЅЂϿϽϯІχϯπρϴϱЄϱЃϵϳЅ" and "ЃϵϳЅЂϿϽϯІχϯπρЂϻϵЉЃϵϳЅ", no file extensions. It keeps telling me:

(Yes I know it says it opens with Mass Effect 2, I don't know why.), but the files are clearly there. I tried restarting, but it still doesn't help. Any suggestions?

Did you uninstall that from add or remove programs? it happened with me a few times i just ignored it

No, I didn't go through and uninstall every program, I just deleted every folder on the partition. This is the only thing leftover that won't delete.

Tried renaming first?

Tried renaming first?

It gives me the same error message.

I remember trying to delete a folder so I could download FPSC X10 as it was broken, so I tried reinstalling it
Wouldnt let me delete the main folder with all the programs the company made. It ended up working anyway, but I didnt delete it in the end.
Try moving the file to the desktop and keep it in a "bin" folder or something

I just keep getting that same error, no matter what I try doing to the files.

Okay I figured it out. I found a program the deletes ANY file. The trial only allowed 3 files to be deleted, but that was enough.

What's the program?

It can delete system32?

Or, the full version can?

safe mode is your friend

safe mode is your friend

Doesn't work. Safe mode stops all programs that run, which would let you delete files in use. This is a matter of the file not being found. Knowing what you're talking about is your friend. Fixed anyway.
