 Mine lasted for ten seconds, and was over the Atlantic at 60,000 feet. I don't remember the exact number but it was pretty high.

They weren't even sending critical messages to planes. I'm betting the planes he was contacting weren't even in the air given that they're talking to departure or clearing someone for takeoff.

I read about this, they're just overreacting. The kids were saying exactly what the parents told them to.
I agree, it's not like they were saying random stuff.

If you listen to the audio the pilots seem to be overjoyed that a child is directing them saying this like "Awesome job!"

It is only a little disconcerting seeing as to how I flew out of NYC just yesterday.

What a coincidence, my mom is flying out to NY tommorow and she's going to the JFK airport :o
