Author Topic: A Blockland "Ruler"?  (Read 1612 times)

I was thinking in math class today about measuring Blockland Builds using height, length, and width.

Is there a way to possibly make a tool where you measure the dimensions of a build and it tells you the Area, Perimiter, or Volume, in say, 1x1 bricks? plus maybe a few more modes?

could be a good tool, but how to make it is the question

Multi tool 2.0
Has a measurer mode. Don't know if it works or how well though.

WTF I JUST SPENT THE LAST HOUR SEARCHING FOR THAT. AND THERE IT IS.
WHAT THE HELL.

You don't really need a ruler, the smallest block unit is a 1x1 plate.
A 2x2 cube is 2x2x3, due to plates being thinner than studs.

wrongo, a 2x2 cube is 2*2*5, a 2x2 brick is 2*2*3, 2x2 cube is that because a 4x4 cube is 4*4*10

I meant 2x2 brick, my bad.

Some of the modes are broken by trust issues.

It also seems he didn't check all tools, I noticed this undefined variable:
$TrustLevel::Print

If you people want to fix it temporarily:
$TrustLevel::Print = x;

Where x is 1 for build trust, 2 for full trust, and 3 for the brick owner only

Really, I just use ghost bricks as a temporary ruler. It's pretty convenient.

A ruler has been implemented before, but I think it was done wrong. If someone does make a new ruler tool, it needs to be easy to use and work predictably.

i think a blockhead is about 2x5
just use your blockhead to measure

Exactly. Thread over, there's really no need for a rules other than general laziness.

I see no need for a ruler, this technique has worked for me always.
