I am more than willing to help complete strangers to a certain extent. Though it is more difficult to do from behind a computer. As you said, people adopt the certain "I dont care" persona and become naturally thick headed, unwilling to take help when given. I will try to help newcomers as best I can, but if they lock themselves to their own false beliefs and attack me for helping I retaliate.
Real life I am so much more prone to helping others. Mostly due to the fact that I can actually physically help them, aside from just explaining things. Like if I'm driving along and the car in front of me with a driver I've never met before gets in an accident, I will gladly avert from what I'm doing, stop my car and get out and help the person. There has been countless times this winter where I've seen cars stuck and I've stopped to help.
Like I said, people over the internet will reject help, stick to there beliefs, and retaliate against all who think differnet.
