(This was the best dream I ever had)
I remember I was on a Star Cruiser, I was lost too until one of the superior officers showed me to my cabin. She wore a gray combat suite with white armor plating and an insignia on the side of her shoulder plate.
She told me that I hit my head hard and my memory is going to return in a matter of hours. She explained that everyone was a young space Marine aged around 16. I later remembered that we went through the Marine core together and are the same age, and around the same height of 6.2 feet. We were on a recon mission still going through training, and she reminded me we were going to make our first atmosphere to ground jump.
Then I suddenly remembered my name, it was John, the Officer I met was Kelly, another friend I grew up with was Sam.
The drill Sergeant yelled through the com channel as an early wake up call. We dressed in uniform and I exited my quarters without brushing my teeth and I saw Kelly and Sam waiting for me. She told me I was late while Sam was putting on a huge backpack that was almost twice his size. Then I remembered Kelly reminded me it was our jump schedule.
We saw lots of other kids around our age climbing aboard the Pelicans suited up to drop out of the sky. Sam told me "Don't worry it'll be fun"
I didn't really hear him because I was scared stuffless, my mouth felt tight, I felt sick in my throat, my stomach hurt, and I still strapped the parachute on and climbed onto the drop ship.
The hatch in front of the ship opened, and a huge blue and green planet appeared. That's when I got really nervous. Kelly tapped my shoulder and slipped on her helmet with a smirk. I looked around and all the other kids did so too, I looked under my seat and found my helmet and slipped it on.
I felt the Pelican take off, and right before we touched zero gravity the artificial gravity turned on. I didn't feel it enter space, but I saw through the little roosterpit window that we did. Our drill Sergeant stepped out of the roosterpit to announce our first jump, where to pull to activate the parachute, and how long to wait until we need to.
The Sergent's final words were "Good luck, I hope none of you die today." then enters the roosterpit and locks the door. The red light inside the Pelican turned on as the ramp slowly opened. Beneath were large oceans and continents. Our target was a circle that can be viewed from space, I was scared.
All of the kids started to argue on who will go first, until a small girl stands up and walks to the ramp. She takes a breathe and lets go, she disappears from our view. Kelly and Sam stood up and dragged me behind them, before we jumped we tuned our radio channels so we can hear each other. Kelly seemed excited and the same with Sam, but I wasn't. They grabbed my hands and pulled me in. Their faces appeared on my visor, they were excited while I was grinding my teeth.
Slowly mountains started to appear beneath the cloud layer, then rivers, then forests. I counted to ten and pulled my parachute, it flung open.
Our team made it last and we almost missed the large circle. We didn't eat that night as punishment.
Kelly-086 K.I.A. Sam-034 K.I.A. John-117 M.I.A. It was the best damn dream I've ever had. And I wish with no doubt that it happens again.
Edit: This dream happened right after I finished reading Halo: Fall of Reach. It means most of these events in my dream happened in the book.
