No, there is rhyme and reason to this. That time there is, oddly enough, six hours before Unix time started. Unix time, which is a form of time counting that was started on January 1st 1970 at midnight is what computers use to keep time.

It's a little odd though that the BL forum's time starts six hours before Unix time started.

Edit: The only thing I could think of that would cause the discrepancy is time zones, but I thought that most servers either went off Unix time or GMT/UTC.
The default forum time is GMT-6 if I recall correctly, so that would explain the difference.
