They're robots. Why do their guns have sights?
They are cameras that interface with the mobile suit on contact.

Uh-huh. Sure.
And if said mobile suit drops wepon?

If other mobile suit has a sniper and is standing miles away?

You never know. They'd be better off with built-in weapons. The thing I hate about gundam/code geasse/big anime robots isn't the humanlike shapes they take, or the fact that they can fly like they're weightless, it's that they are HOLDING WEAPONS. WEAPONS THAT CAN BE DROPPED. On top of that, WEAPONS WITH IRONSIGHTS/SCOPES.

@sniper: you're forgeted. If you had a knife and tingalz was standing Twenty feet away with an automatic shotgun and wanted to kill you, you'd be dead.

Also why does this bother you so? I have never seen a gundam fly the way you accuse it of doing.

But I was just holding an automatic shotgun a second ago, but I dropped it because it wasn't built into my arm.

Maybe it was just the game I was watching someone play then, where they all zoomed around about 5 feet off the ground DBZ-style. Like walking wasn't good enough or something.

Ugh, I don't know what to do with you sometimes.

Also the games suck. Unless it's based off of Universal Century, any gundam metaverse is pretty lame. In all the game s for UC I've played, I have never seen a flying gundam, unless space combat counts as flying.

space combat
As much as I hate the sight of huge things maneuvering quickly, that's an excuse.

What?

For reference, the MS in the picture harm posted is as tall as a five story building. The madcat is six. You were saying?

Madcats don't fly, now do they? They aren't equipped with jump jets.

Then what was that thing that levitated to the roof of that building in mechwarrior 4 trailer?

I don't follow mechwarrior but it looked like a madcat to me.

And neither do mobile suits? However some MS are equipped with rocket boosters that can increase airtime from a jump by 25%.

If you're talking about the reboot trailer, that was a Jenner. A 35-ton light mech equipped with jump jets. Madcats don't have boosters.

In mechwarrior, jump jets are used to get over obstacles anyway, not prolonged use.

In Dynasty Warriors: Gundam and number 2, they don't fly around instantly like DBZ. Most of the fighting actually takes place on land in those games, excluding the space missions.

In Armored Core, there's quite some flying around, but you're very limited unless you run some infinite energy regulation. The weapons in Armored Core are also attached, so the weapon's don't just fall out of your giant metallic hand. You can discard them midbattle, but that's only used when you're out of ammo and want to move faster, and it happens by deattachment and not just opening the hand.

Thank you chrono.

Qwepir I must be thinking about a different video.
