Yeah, I need some not-biased opinions to my short story for Literature. We have to write a 3 page story about any romance we want to choose from. Naturally, I selected the romance between the main characters of Cave Story. I'd like some opinions on the final scene, not on how it correlates to the game, please.
And for those interested in the song, it adds a more "sad" feel if you have heard the song before.

Here it is, and FYI, Curly is dead.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quote sat at the table, alone, and sad. Without Curly, what could he do now? He thought about Self Delete, amongst other things. Just then, the orchestra started up, playing an old familiar tune…

‘I wonder should I go or should I stay…the band with only one more song to play.’
The slow, sad melodies of the waltz made Quote put his head down and begin to cry. Why didn’t he tell Curly how he felt about her before she died?

‘And then I saw you out the corner of my eye, a little girl alone and so shy…’

As Quote sat crying, a familiar hand grasped his shoulder. He looked up to see the face of none other than Curly Brace. She smiled down at him and asked “Would you care to dance?”

‘I had the Last Waltz with you…two lonely people together…I fell in love with you, the Last Waltz should last forever…’

Quote looked at her in amazement. “But, I saw you die—“He was cut short as she pressed a finger to his lips. “Shush. Now come and dance, I don’t have much time left.” She led him over to the dance floor and slid her arms behind his back. Quote felt whole again, as if a piece of his own heart had been lost and then regained.

‘But the love we had was goin’ strong…through the good and bad we got along…but then the flame of love died in your eyes…my heart was broke in two and you said goodbye…’

Quote held Curly close to him, in pure happiness and joy. He looked down at her pale face, laced with her shining blonde hair, and he told her he loved her.

‘I had the Last Waltz with you…two lonely people together…I fell in love with you, the Last Waltz should last forever…’

She looked up at him and brushed her lips against his. They looked deeply into each other’s eyes before embracing and sharing their first kiss. Just then, she broke away from his grasp, and began to fade away. She reached out for his hand, and for the last time, they held one another’s hands. She disappeared, and Quote knew she’d always be with him.

‘It’s all over now, nothing left to say, just my tears and the orchestra playing… La la la la la la la la la, la la la la la la la la la…’

Quote said goodbye to her, and with tears streaming down his cheeks, he smiled. He finally got to tell Curly he loved her. That…that was all he needed. He went back to his table, slipped on his jacket, and took out his wallet. He paid the barkeeper and exited the building, crying, but a happy, complete robot.
Meanwhile, to orchestra finished their song…

‘I had the Last Waltz with you…two lonely people together…I fell in love with you, the Last Waltz should last forever…’

Indeed, the Last Waltz would last forever.
