Author Topic: Wierd look/texture/I dont know look on my things  (Read 1291 times)

Well, this happens to all of my weapons/vehicles and I would love to know how to fix it.

Do you see here how you cannot see the fine lines of the brown octagon? It looks like its smudged together and unnatural.

But here, you can easily see the lines. What shapes and the corners and everything.

Please do help. Ive been dying to fix this.

How did you texture it? Did you use colorshift?

:o Colorshift? I just add a material. Name it brown. Then i put a png in the add-on folder with the same name... brown. Is there a different/right way to do it?
Flatshade it.
Flatshading is just pretty much just the reverse of smoothshading, all you do I select mesh and hit "Set solid" and done.

Well flatshding it will make you see those 'lines'.

Hoa2flatshade with blender?

It's either lighting problems because you scaled in object mode or a problem with the normals. Select the whole object and press alt s, then scale it back in edit mode. Then go to edit mode, editing tab and go to the Mesh Tools more panel. Then enable draw normals, for every face that doesn't have a blue line sticking out select it, press ctrl f and select flip normals.

Darkstars right

this happend with me awhile back while working on that cs pack

if you flip the normals over so that they all stick out it should fix it

I do actually scale in object mode. That would seem to be my problem, thank you all so much. Really, I want to hug you, but as they say in my school "No homo". So yea, bless all of you, or thank you in a non-religous way. I'm just really ecstatic because this has always been my problem. Thank you.

:D

The part here:

Is caused by overlapping faces, I think

Yea, I know that. I can fix that quite easily. Thanks though.

Well, huge bump but, I'm doing the scale thing and when I press S and .2, everything disappears. Any help darkstar? Or anyone?
