"Someone saying they hate gay people but they are gay is a paradox." - Nope.

I suspect the reason you posted this thread was less to provide people with humor and more to try and get validation on you being "in the right".

This was a largely confusing argument, as Jess didn't really structure it, instead leaving it as an amorphous pile of nonsensical stuff.

"Someone saying they hate gay people but they are gay is a paradox." - Nope.
Explain.

I think the most truthful thing said was "Arguing with Jess is like arguing with a brick wall."

Explain.

A paradox is (as defined by wikipedia) a statement that leads to a contradiction. You can be gay and hate gay people, just as you can be a person and hate people (see: Misanthropy) - it's not a paradox. A paradox would be "This statement is false."

It's a paradox by standard.  One saying they hate gay people, while being gay themself, is contradictive.  Hypocrisy is a simplification.

I agree with both sides. Lalam can be immature at times, but Jess' argument was without much foundation. She never provided any examples towards your immaturity.

However, you can avoid that by saying they hate homoloveuals as a whole, including themself.  It was a shady example.

Hypocrisy =/= Paradox
