Want to get back into mapping, but I'm feeling unmotivated as forget.
Don't feel unmotivated, I use your map every time I play on Gmod. (When I play offline that it) I love everything about it and haven't really had one problem with it. I really like how you made that secret place in your map. YOu have also encouraged me to start mapping.

I work on maps in short bursts, like whenever I feel like it I will add details, then get bored an hour or two later and play games.

I want to build an alien swarm map where the only available weapon is the mining laser you see in timor station.

Textures y/n?

Interior textures are unspeakably ugly.
Ugly Red Wall Texture is Ugly.

Wait, I had a secret place in my map?

In other news, I'm thinking about finding some nice custom textures and throwing some stuff together this evening. I can't make promises about its originality or its quality, but i'll try to get back into mapping a bit.

Well I decided on something to map. It'll be more or less based off of this guy:

an old build of mine. It's already turning out pretty stuffty, I fear. I doubt this will ever be released on Garrysmod.org, but I'll be sure to post it here when it's more than what appears to be a stuffty modern art sculpture with dev textures.

Just a quick question for you guys: Which do you prefer, brush based or mesh based mapping?
I prefer brush based.

I prefer brush based.
Could you give us some quick examples of each?

I prefer brush based.
Brush, that's the one I work with, it seems easier to use.
Mesh sounds harder to use but more complex.

So here's what I've been working on.

The new version of Backyard is out!

Is the sandbox still there?
