As a Female myself I can say this. She just wanted drama in her life, or she wanted to brake up with you hardly and in the letter found her self going for the "Its not you, its me"

You're a loving richard [/sarcasm]

If she just wants to forget with you, you should tell her you read her letter and that you respect her decision, and the if this is the way things have to be, let them.

Give her a week or two to ask to get back together with you and if she does, Jess was right.

What you gotta do is as soon as you realize they are about to break up with you blurt out "WE'RE OVER BITCH" and then run away. That way you can tell everyone you broke up with her. In your case pretend like you never read the letter and go up to her and go "I accidently lost your letter but I just wanna say WE'RE OVER HO."
