I just play it because I like the co-op in it. They're both okay. I like the first one more than the second.

It's really close. They're such different games, L4D is solid and not excessive in the slightest. L4D2 almost feels rushed and definitely feels a bit gimmicky or at least like they tried to cram way too much in but it was still fun and really good.

Shotgunning in L4D feels slightly more satisfying than L4D2 though. But in L4D2 nothing beats a pump shotgun plus a horde.

If you listened to the L4D2 develeper commentarys you'd realize how much effort Valve put into L4D2 to make it better than L4D.

Seriously, I don't understand how people like L4D better.

L4D2 for weapons/gore/modes, L4D for atmosphere/characters.

because l4d was fresh, new, l4d2 is just the game with more stuff, you cant compare any sequel with the original game (well, there are few exeptions) because the first game will be always better
