It really depends on what interpretation that picture is based off of. If you're as educated on the subject as you claim, you'd know that picture isn't 100% fact. You believe in a book that says this is undeniable truth. I'd think that degrades the reliability of everything else in that book. It's like if I wrote a textbook who's first half claimed that the earth was flat then went on to say stuff that wasn't obviously untrue at first glance, you'd probably be suspicious.

That's like calling a revision that cuts genetics out of biology a revision. It might be, but it doesn't mean you're getting closer to the truth. Science isn't influenced by politics in the long run, aside from what fields are funded.
