awesome, I scored a stuffload of leather and grapes, so im all decked out with mah leather gear and stuff. but while i was looting someone stole my tanning tub :/
also, how do i make my fight points regenerate faster.

you should go to a place with a nice variety of trees.

thats why you get cartography, make a map, and mark your village on it.
in fact, thats what I'll be spending my points on.
also, do not store precious loot until you get yeomanry.

you put stuff in a chest/basket, put that basket in the boat.
right-click on it, open, pick which chest you want, put it down, profit
but no, you cannot put the boat in your inventory, but you can lift it and take it with you

then im cutting over some land till i find a new set of rivers to follow.

i finally found my spot :D
its a island about the grid size of 50x50 in the middle of a giant lake.
and surrounding the lake is all types of terrains, and rivers that lead all directions.
