So if you buy a stock in a company that owns a major part of the internet backbone (Level3 Communications, AT&T, ect.) couldn't you say you own part of the internet? :O

So what is the point of this topic?

So what is the point of this topic?
No, the question is WHY is there a topic about this?

No, because AT&T doesn't own the internet?

However if you own a website, then you do, don't you?

Tom

Looks like the own a pretty big part of it to me...

Hmm, I guess you could consider the internet the actual servers that contain it.

There is more than 3 internets

You might be able to say that you own .001 percent of it...lol...

You may "own" a bit of the physical infrastructure of the internet, but you don't own any of the content of the net. It'd be like saying the government owns all the cars because they own the roads.

I now own approximately 0.00000001% of the internet.
