Unless you really can't see stuff in front of you. Anyways, I love the strategy type more, make barracks and spawn soldiers, create a huge army and march them through the hill side.
 And I love Empire Earths map editor mode, spawn hundreds of troops and recreate huge battles.

Also, if you want oversimplified flashy lights attempting to disguise themself as an RTS, then I guess I'd suggest Red Alert 3.

Awesome graphics and realism, and pretty fun to go ahead on epochs and massacre renaissance AIs with mechs and future weapons.

Empire Earth 2 is even better, but doesn't have the ability to build anywhere...instead, there's controllable territories

If you have a super computer, get EE3. It...is...******* awesome. I have it and my PC can't run it at any decent speed.
