The freedom of speech, or all freedoms granted by the constitution, only extend as far as the point where you don't impede other's rights.  Lets not go into a discussion about how that works because it is very much situational and quite impossible to truly define.  This is extreme enough that their rights to do it are not technically protected.  They should be in a federal prison for this.

I would defend to the death the right of the Westboro Baptists to speak.

All of you saying otherwise need a lesson on American values and the constitution. There is no right to not be offended. I'm rather tired of the first amendment being trampled upon, and if I have to deal with the existence of the WBC, so be it.

People's rights conflict all of the time.  They have invaded the rights of the funeral goers to mourn their passed loved ones.  The funeral does not invade anyone's rights of speech, yet the baptists are very clearly "trampling" all over theirs.  The right to infringe upon other's rights is not protected by the constitution.

Even though it's their right to voice their beliefs in such a manner, it's beyond messed up to attack the people dying to defend their rights to say it.

That's my issue with them.

The WBC's right to free speech shouldn't supersede the rights of the fallen soldier's family to attend the funeral without being harassed.

That's what I said.  Anyways, it looks like someone figured that out first.

Me and my older brother should go down to one of their pickets and hug eachother right infront of them.

:D

Make humping motions as well.
Also, gather a giant /b/ party for stuff to really hit the fan.

Anybody here live in Charleston WV? I'm game for wrecking their picket at the university.

If they ever come to Colorado

me and quite a large group of my friends will be waiting.

No, they are protected fully by the constitution. They are not trampling on anyone's rights. They protest on public property and therefore can not be stopped. They even have restrictions on how close to the funeral they can be.

Don't spew stuff out of your asses; the first amendment is not something you can mess around with.

this. They can protest all they want, but it won't change much, except for an extreme hatred for their family.
