To start a PSU without a motherboard, connect the green wire to a ground (black) wire with any metal that conducts electricity.

That is all you should need to know about a computer.
Next time he needs to plug in something just do a upper decker if you don't know what this is here.

The leaving of fecal matter in the tank of ones toilet, turning the water brown. Primarily done as revenge or a drunken practical joke, but sometimes in an emergency when the bowl is clogged.

I was gona say that D:
Also here is a picture of what tay said to do. Yes that is a paperclip.

Is building a computer hard? I'm sorry, but I guess I've just not been able to run games very well for so long that now that I'm making that happen, I feel like something is going to go wrong and I still won't be able to do it, no matter how hard I try.

So basically my question is this; if I take the proper precautions and check parts compatibilities beforehand and all that jazz, do I have a good chance of getting this thing put together right?

Most definitely.

oh another question: How easy is it to catastrophically forget something up, like the mobo?

I hear it's really easy to accidentally shock it and then its fried.

My mobo had slots for my cases fans I didn't need to plug them into the PSU.

I always put the mobo in first.

Okay fine, I get it. I have removed my PSU and my case/PSU will most likely remain dormant on my desk for two months until I buy everything else.

Never heard of that. Just wear a grounding bracelet or touch a part of the case always while handling everything. Be careful with the CPU, it's very delicate.
