Wait until you get to Chap. 9 :)

Wait until you get to Chap. 9 :)

......... Im good for now being stuck on Odin.

it does NOT have a world map. it has a picture of a world, and a list of places to go. you scroll the list and select one, then you magically appear on the ground in that linear location.
You do realize there is only 3 (estimate) locations that you NEED the airship to get to? Other than that, you can get around completely on the ground.

its an action RPG
LOL Are you kidding? It's turn based.

turnbased =/= action

your thinking of realtime, that im not even referring to.

You do realize there is only 3 (estimate) locations that you NEED the airship to get to? Other than that, you can get around completely on the ground.

all the locations except for like 2 open ones, are ALLLLLL skinny little linear paths to follow, till you "zone" to the next one. and you never even have to return to old ones for the storyline.
that s not a world, them are glorified "levels"

and at the end of each skinny little linear path, you reach a dungeon much like zelda.
where you can do a few puzzles and maze-like things, then beat the area's new boss.

it was quite literally, the game that changed the entire series to suck.

No, I'm thinking of action.

Action RPGs are games like Oblivion, Mass Effect, etc.

Turn based are games like Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy VII, etc.

Realtime are things like Final Fantasy XII, Final Fantasy XIII, etc.

Why are people so afraid of the idea that series change? If it's different, people bitch, if it's the same, people bitch. There is no end to the complaints people find in good games. Square Enix is doing one hell of a job keeping the majority happy. How many other companies can say they have a single franchise that's been successful for 23 years? You can't expect games to be the same over that kind of time period.

Tactics is waaay too hard for me.

FFXIII failed. It was too easy, short, and VERY linear. I find most of the game running on some narrow path with some jumping sequence that is totally not needed and the fights are basically played for you at the push of one button. Sorry, but I like to be able to control all my characters to do what I want them to do, not what the game has set already with some paradigm shifts based on my build and skill/attack used.
