Author Topic: Sleep Is Death  (Read 8017 times)

It's an odd, 2-player only game made by Jason Rohrer, who is a fairly well renowned indie game maker, which puts one player in control of a person and plays like a point and click game, while the second player IS the point and click game - they create the scenes, and cause reactions to actions.
It's hard to explain in words but the site does a pretty good job with this:

You can pre-order now for US$9 and it comes out in about 18 hours, when it will become US$14.
Pre-ordering gives you two copies of the game, since it's a two player game although play will be over the internet with many different people (or so I've inferred from the way the custom content system works - you can create your own sprites and anyone who plays in a game you use them will have them to use as well)

I just pre-ordered it after reading about it on Facepunch but I've already reserved my second copy.
although most of you will probably just go FEH at this game anyway, dont beg for a second copy

Looks really... really interesting
Will beg dad for money tomorrow considering I paid his toll to Philadelphia yesterday as well as gas ):

EDIT: Wow they made a version for Linux
Thats rarely done :o

Haha
Pre-orderd :) It reminds me of the good old PnP/DnD days.
Got me and a few mates a copy, should have some great time creating diverse and wacky scenarios.

Just hope it's not fulled to the brim of that typical kind of people.

oh look a snake made of fire how original

I was about to come in here and agree, and then I saw it was just a game title.

looks good but i want one player

how would that even work
Hes handicapped just ignore him

Haha.

Also there's only 93 minutes left to pre-order if anyone wants to.
Thinking of creating some Zombie scenarios, will be a good time waster.

Oh goood yes, getting this fo sho. Wait where does it say you can play online? I really don't want it if I can only play with 1 person I give it to. Nvm not gonna get it just because it doesn't have like a match-maker type system or lobby system to get games with people, you can only play with people you find and give your IP address to.

Main reason being:

Rohrer's openly stated that the players of his last multiplayer game, Between, reported positive experiences when they played with friends, much less so when thrown open to the wild west of the web's strangers.

Would be nice to have such of a thing but waiting say, 20 minutes to find a game only to...

Knowing who you are pairing up with is good, if you've got smart friends that is :)
That's why I've given it to a few good old DnD players like myself.

I don't have any friends that like video games really, all my friends are into partying and fixing cars and snowboarding and skateboarding. But my mom actually loves these types of games and told me she'd play with me if I bought it so I bought it, and I will enjoy making my own stories, making stories is one of my strong-suits so I hope to make some very very epic stories.

This looks kind of neat. So its like a Point-and-click game maker? I'd kind of like to play this with a few people if I get it :o

Yeah, except the game is made on the spot
