It may have been proven that a ninja's sword is sharp enough to shred a bullet but that's impossible in these conditions. And ninjas aren't trained to dodge musketsballs. They were after their time. They have no knowledge of these things, and even then, they can't dodge every musketball or cannonball, especially something like the Blunderbuss or a Grape-shot.
