Fun game, you have to pay, you can get it on steam, anybody have it? I did search for previous topics, didn't find any specifically about defcon.

I'd love to some time but I'm afraid I suck at it as I don't really play it regularly.

Also, I bought it on Steam. If I were to take the activation code from my copy of Defcon and use it to activate a normal non-steam copy, would it work?

I bought it on steam, you can play across servers, I think they hook up to each other. Doesn't matter where you bought it anyways.
