I don't need to support nothin'

Hendrix sucks and that's all there is to it lol
Jimi Hendrix was an extraordinary guitarist. That is a fact: he was a lot better than almost all guitarists, especially considering the time period. If you don't like his music than that is an opinion, which you usually need to support in some form.

Besides, he doesn't suck.

And he started the movement of smashing your guitar on stage!

Robert Johnson is the best guitarist.

Yeah, but Nirvana perfected it.

Robert Johnson is the best guitarist.
It's funny you should mention that, because Rolling Stones did a list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time and Robert Johnson ranked 5th on that list. Jimi Hendrix was 1st.

yeah but we're not in his time anymore, and he's dead

he's not that good anymore lol

He's not good anymore because he's six feet in the ground.

No, just no.

I wasn't making a post against him.

exactly my point

most guitarists today can easily do what he did and more, so idk see what's so impressive about him other than his funky chords and picking with his teeth

Because he started most of that. He was an extraordinary advancement and all rock songs wouldn't be how they are today if it wasn't for him.

I think that's part of what makes him so damn good. He was so far ahead of his time in my opinion.

I mean, I was listening to Purple Haze the other day and it just hit me that it was recorded forty loving years ago. It's the timelessness that makes it so good.

OH WAIT, stuff.

I remember now that this was the same Illidian that bashed me after I made a thread talking about how Ke$ha sucks, and you said that I was an idiot for calling modern music crappy and something about how I wasn't embracing current trends. Let me dig out that thread.

lol, you honestly think that the beatles didn't have any role in how rock is today?

if you're gonna stick to the revolutionary-guitar playing argument, i'm gonna say john lennon was just as amazing as hendrix then

Hendrix was before them and impacted what they did.
