Ok I think its all 4 survivours but only 3 will be there but 1 dies like there would be Zoey,Francis,Louis but Bill would die. But then Zoey,Francis, and Bill would live.
So you probably see all of them just randomly generates who.

No, officially, one survivor dies before reaching the south and it's the same survivor each time. That survivor is shown in the comic with the DLC.
