Author Topic: Blender, DTS exporter broken! Can I get it into MS3D? [SOLVED]  (Read 3299 times)

I got my model into blender (I used a different program to make it)  but I really want it in MS3D since I can't do stuff with Blender. Is there a Blender .MS3D exporter? Or a MS3D .Blend importort?

If not...

The export is messed maybe? I got the blender DTS exporter, but how the **** does it work? When I export it creates this:

Torque Exporter 0.97 Beta3
 Using blender, version 249
 Exporting...
 Writing shape to  'D:\TEMP_BL\lampPost.dts'.
 Processing...
       Error : Shape contains no meshes (no valid detail levels)! <<This is the stuffty error
    > Shape Details
    > Nodes
      ^^ Bone [Exp-Catch-Root] (parent -1)
    > Objects
    > Materials
    > Detail Levels
    > Internal Sequences
 Writing out DTS...
 Done.
 Finished.

Now what? It creates an empty 1KB file.

Use MS3D
Before i steal your idea and make it myself.

do you have the Detail32 and Shape emptys?

I made it in a different program, not Blender or MS3D. Also, lampPost isn't my idea, it's a cover up. I got my model into blender, but can't get it into MS3D.

Just so you know, I never use Blender. Yndaa, can you explain your response more, and tell me how it can be fixed?

You need to have detail32 and stuff if you want to export it properly. (Please don't listen to me, I'm not sure, I haven't got Blender).

How do I make detail32 and stuff?


Added empty, and I set the Detail level on export to Detail32. Still get this:

Error : Shape contains no meshes (no valid detail levels)!

Are there any Blender MS3D exporters? Because if I do get this to work, I still have to figure out how to make a collison mesh in Blender.

Ok, I got it. I just exported the model as 3DS then imported it to MS3D. Screw Blender.

I can get my model into blender, and easily. My problem is the dang exporter plugin doesnt even install! T_T it keeps saying "Could not locate Blender folder!".... please help D: I spent lots of time on my model and i cant use it :c

im using blender.  Whats wrong with it?

Will: Blender is a very good program... To export properly you have to make 2 emptys, one named Detail 32, other named Shape. Parent all your bones and mesh to detail32, and detail32 to shape. And you suck if you say "Screw Blender"

From blender export to .dxf. Then, import .dxf into Milkshape.
