Author Topic: Non linear, "choose your own adventure" type game.  (Read 3891 times)

I like nonlinear games likes deus ex and SWKOTOR, but I can't really find any game where the decisions you make affect the story 100%. With the two aforementioned games, it seems that they have a very specific story and you have options about various ways to approach problems, but you get the same problems and story each time.

I'm talking about a game where if you kill a certain person (or some other thing) the story movies in an entirely new direction.

Yes! Someone who shares my love of non-linear games. So what kind are you looking for? Something like Oblivion as in medieval? Future? Enlighten us.

Mass effect is not non-liner.
Never played Heavy Rain.

BioShock 1/2 (More-so 2) are like this, only there aren't as many opportunities to change the story as other games.

Scribblenauts (srs) and Heavy Rain.

Text games OK?

Fable 1, Fable 2, Fable 3

Is a very linear game. Don't let the moral choice thing deceive you.

A good non linear RTS is Dawn of War II Chaos Rising.

I got executed for heresy upon finishing the campaign because I corrupted all my squads lol.

Dwarf fortress.
