Your modem isn't a firewall you idiot, you can't portforward it.
Well, it worked for me, and yes, modems do in fact prevent hosting a server if not port forwarded correctly. Although, I most likely have a more complex and modern modem which prevented me from hosting. Cucumber's might be a different story.

Your ISP is stupid for having a router combined with a modem.

My Dad works with computers daily. I'm not entirely sure HOW he did it, but it did involve the modem.
