I have known about it for a while now, just never have upgraded. Though the new GUI is real cool, I prefer the old buddy list.

it's awesome and I LOVE it hope valve NEVER  changes it back also there is a skin that makes steam look like the old steam


and go into list mode and select icons to make steam look close to the old one

here's what you do go into properties and make them both read only or it will replace them with the new ones again

also i suggest making a copy of the these ones and put them in backups just in case they do somehow get replaced with the new ones
