Hyperthreading. That was an advancement.
I'm talking about other things, such as how we cannot fit any more transistors on our chips, so Intel, AMD, etc has started stacking cores. In this respect, we have been using technology from pretty much 2002, but an ass load of it.

You're right... we need ULTRA-SUPER-HYPER-THREADING!

But in all seriousness, I just rebuilt an old SX280 with a Pentium 4 at 3.2GHz with HT. It's not half bad. :)

Source?

I guess I shouldn't trust the first page of benchmarks anymore. I'd feel stupid for posting it.

The 6-core is only a tad better than the 965. Not worth $100 in my opinion.

Either way I'm probably still sticking to getting a Core 2 Quad.

As much as I love the Core 2 Quads, I can't say I support your decision unless you plan on over-clocking it to 3.0GHz.

Mike Meyers says that gamers who are getting new machines and parts should invest in a processor at least 3.0GHz or more per core. :)

What about Moore's Law?

My dad works at AMD; very nice choice

Uh, I'm going to overclock it probably to 3.0 GHz. I already overclocked my Core 2 Duo back up to 3.0 GHz.

What about Moore's Law?
They are trying to emulate Moore's Law by releasing more cores...

My processor is only 4.

DO WANT

Guys I have an Intel brand computer, any good graphics cards I can get for it? I don't care about price.

Also, I think it's an HP 1740. It has a Pentium 4 3.00ghz processor, can you upgrade your processor?

You should really explain that whole "stacking cores" theorem.

They are using the general technology but shrinking it. I don't know if you've been paying a attention but the manufacturing technology has been shrinking, shrinking the general size of each core, graphics processors, or other on-chip best tasks.

I don't know if that was what you were saying but your post made no sense to me.

Jesus christ.
Who needs 6 cores.
