I guess I shouldn't trust the first page of benchmarks anymore. I'd feel stupid for posting it.The 6-core is only a tad better than the 965. Not worth $100 in my opinion.
Either way I'm probably still sticking to getting a Core 2 Quad.
I'm talking about other things, such as how we cannot fit any more transistors on our chips, so Intel, AMD, etc has started stacking cores. In this respect, we have been using technology from pretty much 2002, but an ass load of it.
As much as I love the Core 2 Quads, I can't say I support your decision unless you plan on over-clocking it to 3.0GHz.Mike Meyers says that gamers who are getting new machines and parts should invest in a processor at least 3.0GHz or more per core. :)
