I'll grab a car, some guns, ammo, supplies, and food, search for survivors, arm them, we'll search the streets for more recruits for our militia, And shoot, slice, run over, and beat our way to an evac center, but to make sure to stay in the area for as long as possible before evacing, If we're overrun, then we'll all blow ourselfs up with grenades, not get up and join those bastards.

1: Find 3 other people, I would prefer. A hot gamer chick, an African American with a pill addiction and a gambler with an attitude.

4: Get to the safe room

Well you have to think about it this way:
the zombies society traditionally associate with the 'apocalypse' are stupid, but persistant.
so what they lack in intelligence and speed, they make up for in persistance and numbers.
Barricading yourself would be stupid, you obviously would have limited supplies, and when its just a handful of survivors against millions of zombies, sooner or later, you can't protect yourself or they over run your hide out.
The best strategy would be to keep running from place to place, or to maroon yourself on an island (because I'm not sure that zombies can swim).
For people who would use a shotgun, You'd die. here are some pros and cons:
P:Spread
C:Large numbers, very strong, and persistance
P: high damage
C: a pain in the ass to reload
In all, I'm not going to leave an answer, but just this to help people choose their answer more precisely.

Anyway, yes, to ARC, that is a LIKELY thing to happen, but in some cases, it depends on how much the 'virus' is spreading, or HOW is spreads. If the zombies rise when we're all asleep, then yes, we're forgeted. But, if we're awake, from 1-250 of us will survive, 1-249 of us will die, and at least 1 will live life :D and then we eat some twinkies.

I would die because I really couldn't see the point in losing everything you knew and loved and then spending years doing nothing but being miserable, malnourished and attempting to survive
