We do, and especially for rain we can keep tracing it back and back farther and farther. Pretty much it's a big tree of factors and outcomes. We can trace it back to the beginning of the Earth (not really but if we were able to we would trace it to the beginning) because the cloud formations or those factors had an effect on future weather forever and more factors keep coming along and guiding it.

The way the weather was in the beginning (where the clouds were, how big, etc) controlled where it went in the future, even one molecule being being somewhere else would cause a difference in the future. God planned out where and how exactly it should start so everything would go as needed. But you don't believe in God so it means nothing to you.
Very nicely explained, once again. :D Quite a nice theory.
As Oasis implied in his post, the only thing that is keeping religion here on Earth is the lack of knowledge where we came from. Right now, it would seem that common belief is that this so called "God" made Earth with a plan in mind, but I'm sure one day we're going to figure out that the matter for Earth came from some sector in space. Then, religion is going to change somewhat and say, "Oh, our god sent it from there." It is just going to be an endless cycle until we figure out how to create matter.
Religion changes all the time, and I think that is why people are starting to stop believing in God (Well, one reason, of course). Many Atheists (Not all.) I've met often attempt to disprove Christianity. It seems to me that some people assume if you disprove
religion, you disprove
God. They are two completely different bodies, however. Religion is merely an organized system of beliefs that hold similar fundamental beliefs and ideas, normally one that believes in some form of higher life or a supernatural being. If you disprove the Bible, Torah, Qur'an, or any other religious book, scroll, story, etc. You are not disproving God's existence, rather you are merely disproving the specific
depiction of God's physical effects on this world, many of which may have been written symbolically.
tl;dr - Religion changes, yes, but that does not disprove God. As said, one can neither disprove nor prove God's existence, so it is better to follow which ever one you may so believe, and be glad for your existence here, whether or not it is by a higher being. And at the very least, tolerate those around you, if you agree with them or not, and appreciate
their existence here.
(And this wasn't completely directed at you, Door, I just needed someone to quote. :3 Mage knows you tolerate and appreciate many people.
