Author Topic: The Guessapedia Game  (Read 1091 times)

I'm going to try out this idea I had, here's how it works:

1. Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random to generate a random Wikipedia article (or go to the Wikipedia for your language and click the "random article" link on the side).

2. Skim the article and pick a sentence or two to post. Try to pick something that directly describes the subject of the article. If your article is too short or just sucks, try again. If the sentence contains the name of the subject, replace it with a dash or a "snip" or something similar.

3. Copy that sentence and paste it here.

4. Look at the above poster's article snippet and throw out a thought on what the article was about. Be serious or funny, it doesn't matter. If the person above you posts again, they can mention what the article actually was if they want to.

5. Come back and look at what the person after you guessed.

Example:

Quote from: Poster A
Quote
It was a 20th century marvel.

Quote from: Poster B
Poster B's brain.

Quote
After 5 years, he moved to Oklahoma.

It's nearly impossible to get it right but hopefully it'll be fun. If things don't quite turn out I'll just lock this and we can move on with our lives knowing this game isn't a good idea.

I'll obviously start:

She eventually came out as a lesbian.

Maya Keyes.

While certainly facile in traditional blues and rock styles on that instrument, he has gradually developed a signature sound that includes elements of pedal steel and other various unusual harmonics and voicings.

That's cheating.

Please try to keep the game going either way.

"- is an album by Americana and folk musicians - and -."

Um. All of them.

It is called pressure sensitive because when the liner is removed, the adhesive will allow the facestock to stick to another surface when pressure is applied to it.

That's cheating.

Please try to keep the game going either way.
You expect us to differentiate out of all the woman in the world who are lesbians? Try a narrower clue, and maybe put it in your own words.

the purpose of the game isn't to get it right every time. it's supposed to be funny, ass.

I don't see that fun in any way, you can say half a million things when you put lesbian into it, ass.

"I CANT WIN SO IT'S NOT FUN!"

You forgot to post one.

So basically you go and name anything that's a lesbian. Real fun, right?
I already posted one that no one answered.

Because you edited AFTER someone posted.

And if you don't find making a single guess with a high chance of getting it wrong where you can make any joke you want any fun, then you don't have to post in this topic.

would somebody please respond to mine.

Sorry if you suck at enjoying games, mr. I guess this thread just isn't for you.

So it's basically Jeopardy with Wikipedia?
