Author Topic: Brick-fusing  (Read 1040 times)

Basically, fuse together identical bricks.
A 1x1 and a 1x2 become a 1x3.
This could be avoided if the bricks were named or had events on them.

This is a great idea, if it's possible.

It'd help with the idiots spamming 1x1x5s

I was thinking of this when I came onto the forums and was about to post about it... Then I saw this thread.

Anyways, it would be good for drywall or things that you wanted together but just couldn't find a good brick. I was thinking of a tool like the duplicator to do this task, possibly a caulking gun or welding torch.

I'd actually prefer it be automatic, because

If it is automatic, it should have an on/off button for the admin, so the people who don't spam can build with the bricks in normal mode

Was something like this done in the creeper mod? Or was it the trench one?

Both.

Both, actually.

I was just about to say, "Has anyone here played Trench Digging?"

Totally possible.

not totaly possible, as you would need a  datablock for every single combination, including ones with holes in it

Have you ever played a trench digging game? It only fuses certain bricks that are in certain formations. There are no bricks with holes in them, so if you form a 4X4 with a missing 1X1, it will not fuse. Place that last 1X1 and voila. You got a single 4X4 brick.
It's primary use would be to just conserve brickcount.

What if someone wanted separate bricks? Like pixel artists or stained glass window for churches?

completely possible, it could check for nearby bricks of the same color and see if you have a brick that would be able to fuse with it every time you planted one.

I like this, but you should be able to toggle it on/off for those who build everything at once and paint it afterwards.

Makei t check to see if the combo of bricks would equal the dimensions of one you already have. It should be a tool, where you hit one then the other.
