resident evils are not scary

Being in a dark cave with spiders and creepers is scary.

;-;
The spiders are actually a little scary when you make a new game/save.

chomp.

this game is a fmv and a very overlooked title....
i already made a topic about it but its locked

Penumbra black plauge.
I pooped.

Fatal Frame (I don't remember much of this series since I played it very long ago. The one I played had twin sisters)

Clocktower 1 (the sequels suck; and yes I've played this on PC before...Emu)

Penumbra is more of a puzzle game to me, second one was better. The game is more about panic than scary.

Penumbra black plauge.

Penumbra is the only scary game I've played

Silent hill and resident evil aren't really scary neither is any game with just lots of gore and weapons

violence does not make a game scary it can help though

Silent Hill is apparently scary to most, but I found it more disturbing then scary.

If you want a scary game, try Penumbra Overture or Penumbra Black Plague (Black Plague is scarier :S)

Penumbra is really cool because you're just an average joe. You aren't no damn Master Chief sporting tons of absurd weapons to just go in and start destroying stuff, Combat isn't as easy and enemies are much more likely to win. In Black Plague you're completely unarmed in fact throughout the game. Anyways, with that the game pressures you to use stealth and hiding capabilities to survive rather then brute force. It also contributed to the horror atmosphere.

I remember my first encounter in Overture. Hiding behind the crate in the pitch darkness, staring into the wall praying that the beast around the corner wasn't about to come to close to me and notice me. Really nerve wracking game, also a fun puzzle game to boot.

Yeah Im glad they made it hard to use the pickaxe on it cause it just destroys the whole reason to use stealth

F.E.A.R!

And Penumbra..

Well, by the fourth encounter with one of those dogs I was pretty much use to killing them with the pickaxe. It's hard at first but you just have to time it right and keep bashing them when they try and get up. I wouldn't even resort to hiding anymore, I would just go "Oh, a dog. I'll just get out my pickaxe"

I even fought off two at once before.
